The form “ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography) (ID 4Th)” describes visualisation of the pancreatic and/or bile duct by means of X-ray examination after administration of a contrast medium. It explains papillotomy, taking tissue samples and treatment measures (e.g. removal of stones, placement of prostheses or stents, bougienage/dilatation, destruction of tumours by radio frequency ablation).
