The leaflet “ChN 12” provides information on diseases in the region of the pituitary gland to be treated surgically. It is performed via transnasal access to the sella, a depression in the base of the skull where the pituitary gland is located. The procedure can be performed by endoscope, by microsurgery and in combination, with the endoscopic access through the nose being the technique of choice in most cases for disease processes at this gland or adjacent structures.
